Gearing: Shaping / Hobbing / Grinding
CMG offers gear shaping services either as “cut teeth only” or the complete gear or shaft.CMG has both conventional and CNC shaping services. Our capacity on shaping gears is 22” diameter x 5.0” face length of gear. CMG can maintain relationships between clusters of gears for timing considerations and can shape external or internal gears and splines. CMG can also shape sector gears. CMG is well suited for small to medium production runs and would not consider high volume quantities.
CMG offers gear hobbing services either as “cut teeth only” or the complete gear or shaft.
CMG has both conventional and CNC hobbing services. Our capacity on hobbing gears is 16.0” diameter x 12.0” face length of gear. CMG can maintain relationships between clusters of gears for timing considerations. CMG is well suited for small to medium production runs and would not consider high volume quantities.
CMG offers gear grinding, also know as profile or form grinding, as “grind teeth only” service or we supply the complete gear or shaft.
CMG can grind gears up to 15.75” (400MM) in diameter and up to 29.0” between centers on its new CNC Hofler 400K Gear Grinder. CMG can maintain quality up to AGMA 13. CMG can provide inspection reports. CMG is well suited to small to medium production runs.
