Gear Grinding
Carnes-Miller Gear offers gear grinding service up to 400mm in diameter on low lot sizes (1-500 pcs) on our Hofler 400K CNC Gear Grinder.
CMG can grind spur and helical external gears up to a 45 degree helix angle. CMG has free form profile grinding and double helical gear grinding services as well. Geared shafts can be ground up to 26" in length.
Carnes Miller Gear offers both conventional and CNC cylindrical gear grinding with a capacity of 12” diameter x 40” in length.
CMG offers cylindrical grind only services. The maximum weight of the part cannot exceed 330 lbs (150kg). We have snap on gaging for quality control and can typically ensure quick turn around for grind only work. CMG does not have the ability to grind cams, only straight and angular wheel plunge and traverse grinding.
CMG can offer limited conventional internal grinding services. The maximum diameter we can chuck on is 12.0”. The maximum length of the part is 6.0”. CMG’s internal grinding services are well suited to small lot sizes. CMG would not consider production runs in internal grinding.
CMG offers thread grinding and worm grinding services.
CMG’s conventional thread and worm grinding services are well suited for small lot runs and CMG would not consider production runs. Our capacity is 12” diameter x 42” length. CMG can grind most standard english and metric threads and we have multi-start capability.
