Gear Grinding
Carnes Miller Gear offers both conventional and CNC cylindrical gear grinding with a capacity of 12” diameter x 40” in length.
CMG offers cylindrical grind only services. The maximum weight of the part cannot exceed 330 lbs (150kg). We have snap on gaging for quality control and can typically ensure quick turn around for grind only work. CMG does not have the ability to grind cams, only straight and angular wheel plunge and traverse grinding.
CMG offers internal gear grinding services.
CMG can offer limited conventional internal grinding services. The maximum diameter we can chuck on is 12.0”. The maximum length of the part is 6.0”. CMG’s internal grinding services are well suited to small lot sizes. CMG would not consider production runs in internal grinding.
CMG offers thread grinding and worm grinding services.
CMG’s conventional thread and worm grinding services are well suited for small lot runs and CMG would not consider production runs. Our capacity is 12” diameter x 42” length. CMG can grind most standard english and metric threads and we have multi-start capability.
CMG can surface grind parts up to 18” in diameter on its Blanchard Grinder.
CMG’s surface gear grinding is well suited to small lot sizes of material able to be grasped on a magnetic chuck on our Blanchard Grinder. CMG would not quote on production work.
