Machining
CMG manufactures gears either by cutting teeth only for a customer, but mainly by providing the complete gear. CMG has the ability to machine the gear and shaft blanks complete in house. CMG has both manual and CNC Turning and Milling capabilities.
CMG offers both conventional and CNC turning, both chucking, and bar feeding with live tooling functionality. Our capacity ranges from 1/2" to 18" in diameter and shaft lengths up to 40". CMG offers conventional and CNC milling to include 4th axis work. Our capacity ranges from 20” x 40” in travel.
NEW!!!: CMG has expanded into multi-Axis machining:
CMG now has the capability to simultaneously machine in 5 axis. CMG has purchased a Takisawa TMM-250 Module 3 with opposing spindles, lower turret, and an upper milling spindle (B-axis)with a 30 station tool changer. This gives us the ability to machine complex parts and maintain close relationships between features in a single setup. CMG upgraded to a Fanuc 16is-TB Control so we could have simultaneous 5 axis control on this 9 axis machine tool.
